Beethoven Septet for Winds and Strings
The Septet in E-flat major, Opus 20, by Ludwig van Beethoven, was first performed in 1800 and was one of Beethoven's most successful and popular works. This six movement piece features the clarinet, bassoon, French horn, violin, viola, ‘cello and double bass and is a unique introduction to these instruments and to Beethoven’s early music. Demonstrations of the instruments and a live listener’s guide to the septet will precede a full performance of the piece.
